Louis Dufour, Jr.

Louis Dufour was a center who had a long career, mostly in his native Switzerland, but he finished his career in France. Dufour played for Les Avants and Bellerive HC in the Swiss National League A during World War I, before switching to HC Rosey Gstaad, where he played from 1919-31, helping them win Swiss titles in 1921, 1924, and 1925. Moving to Paris, he then played from 1931-37 for Racing Club de France, Paris City Team, Paris Canadiens, and Paris CSH. He skated for Racing Club de Paris at the 1932 Spengler Cup competition. While in Paris he opened a hockey school there in 1933. In addition to his two Olympic appearances Dufour was on the Swiss team at the 1924 Winter Olympics, but there is no record that he played in any games. He represented Switzerland at three European Championships, winning a gold medal in 1926, when he captained the team, and bronze medals in 1924 and 1925. After retiring as a player he became a hockey coach.
