Biography

Peter Eriksson started his hockey career in 1979 with Kramfors-Alliansen and from 1984-89 played with HV71. Eriksson was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL in 1987 and joined the team in 1989. But Eriksson played only 20 games with the Oilers, spending most of his only season in North America with the Oilers’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Cape Breton Oilers. In 1990, Eriksson returned to Europe and resumed his play with HV71. Eriksson played with IF Troja-Ljungby from 1994-97 and finished his career in 1997-98 by playing with Nürnberg Ice Tigers in Germany. Internationally, Eriksson played at the 1988 Olympics, 1989 World Championships and 1987 Canada Cup, winning Olympic bronze in 1988 and European Championships bronze in 1989.
