Besides his Olympic bronze, Boris Tishin also won bronze in light-middleweight at the 1953 European Championships and won the Soviet title in light-middleweight three times in a row from 1951-53. In 1950 he took silver behind the legendary Sergey Shcherbakov in welterweight at the Soviet Championships.
