Biography
Partnered with Ilse Kishauer, Gaste finished eighth at the 1928 Olympic Winter Games in St. Moritz, and seventh at the 1931 World Figure Skating Championships. Together they were the dominating pairs team in German figure skating in the 1920s and were German champions between 1927 and 1931 five times in a row.
