Washington Rodríguez won an Olympic bronze medal at the 1964 Olympics as a bantamweight. In 1962 he had won a bantamweight bronze medal at the Latin American Games. Rodríguez turned professional after the 1964 Olympics but fought as a pro for only 5 years, 1965-69. His record was 5 wins with only 1 loss, with 4 of his wins coming by knockout.
