Ice hockey player Georg Guggemos finished eighth with the German team at the 1952 Oslo Winter Olympic Games. He won 25 international caps, and in 1953 he captured the silver medal at the World Championships. From 1948 he played for EV Füssen and won the German Championship in 1949 and between 1953-59, and was on the Spengler Cup winning team in 1952. He was later inducted into the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.
