Former East German ice hockey player Jörg Handrick participated at the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics and finished seventh with the German team. He won 70 international caps and scored 18 goals.
Handrick played at club level with Dynamo Weißwasser, later renamed ES Weißwasser, until 1992, before he moved to the West and played with EV Landshut (1992-99), HC Barons München (1999-2002), and EC Bad Tölz (2002-03). He helped Weißwasser win the East German national title in 1989 and 1990, and München win the German title in 2000.
