Biography

In the 1950s and 1960s Polish ice hockey player Henryk Handy represented Legia Warszawa, winning two championship titles with the team (1963, 1964). Handy played in 329 league matches throughout his career, playing his final seasons at GKS Tychy after a lengthy spell with Legia. He also played in 24 matches for the Polish national team and scored three goals. In 1963 he was part of the team that played at the World Championships before competing at the Innsbruck Olympics the following year. Handy retired as a player in 1975 but continued to be involved in the sport as a coach.
