Jim Holland recovered from breaking his back in a ski jumping accident in 1987 to make two Winter Olympic teams. Only three years later, Holland won the US title on both the normal and large hills, two of his six national titles. Holland graduated from the University of Vermont in 1995 with a major in political science and minors in chemistry and environmental studies. He is the youngest of three brothers who skied for the US at the Winter Olympics, with Mike also competing in ski jumping and Joe competing in Nordic combined.
