Clint Jackson turned professional after the 1976 Olympic Games, boxing professionally from 1979-85. He twice fought for titles, the USBA middleweight title in 1982 against Frank Fletcher, and the NABF middleweight title in 1984 against James Shuler, but lost both bouts. He retired after losing five of seven fights. In 1989 he was convicted of kidnapping and is serving a life sentence in Union Springs, Alabama. Jackson had also won a gold medal in the 1975 Pan American Games as a welterweight.
