Austrian Franz, brother of Heinrich Isser, partnered Reinhold Durnthaler in the two-men bob at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. The pair finished ninth. Three more brothers, Fritz, Paul, and Josef, as well as sister Maria, were also bobsleigh and luge athletes. In 1962 Franz won the bronze medal at the World Championships together with siblings Josef, Heinrich, and Fritz.
