Biography

Gintaras Jasinskas was a biathlete who competed for Lithuania at two Olympic Games in the 1990s, shortly after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Jasinskas was one of six athletes who represented Lithuania at the 1992 Albertville Games, where he competed in the 10 kilometres sprint and the 20 kilometres event, finishing 19th in the latter. He also had the honour of being the nation’s flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony. Two years later Lithuania once again sent a delegation of six athletes to the Olympics, this time for the Lillehammer Games. Jasinskas skied in the same two events that he competed in at the Albertville Games but failed to finish in the top-50 in either.
