Harry Spanjer fought in two divisions at the 1904 Olympics, winning a gold medal as a lightweight, and a silver in welterweight. He was also a wrestler and won AAU titles in wrestling in 1908 and 1911. Spanjer was from Grand Rapids, Michigan but moved to Chicago where he and his brother started and ran Spanjer Brothers Sign Manufacturing Company.
