Former East German ice hockey player Torsten Kienass participated at the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics and finished seventh with the German team. He won 123 international caps and scored six goals.
Kienass played at club level with EHC Dynamo Berlin until 1992, before he moved to the West and played with EC Ratingen (1992-93), Düsseldorfer EG (1993-96), Nürnberg Ice Tigers (1996-97), Moskitos Essen (1997-2000), Düsseldorfer EG again (2000-03), and finally Füchse Duisburg (2003-08). In 1996, he helped Düsseldorf win the German national title.
