Rhoshii Wells competed at the 1996 Olympic Games just after his junior year at Riverdale High School near Atlanta. He was the US Junior champion in 1994, and runner-up at the US Nationals in 1995, and also won a bronze medal at the 1996 US Olympic Festival. He won the 1995 trials for the Pan-Am Games but could not competed because of an injury. After the Olympics, he turned professional in 1997 and fought mostly as a middleweight, compiling a record of 18 wins (10 by KO), 2 losses (both by KO), and 2 draws. He was shot to death in Las Vegas in August 2008.
