Helmut Koren, brother of Günter Koren, was an Austrian ice hockey defence who participated in the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. The Austrian team was eliminated in the group stage. In total, Koren won 24 international caps, scoring three goals. Domestically, he played with Klagenfurter AC from 1975-94 and won seven national titles.
