LaTasha Colander-Richardson was a sprinter with a wide range who competed at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, she attended the University of North Carolina. Colander-Richardson was US Junior Champion in the 100 metre hurdles in 1994 and placed second in the event that year at the World Junior Championships. She was US Champion in the 400 metres in 2000 and 2001. She later placed fifth in the 200 at the 2005 World Championships.
Colander-Richardson established a charitable foundation, the LC Treasures Within Foundation, which worked with children and supported them in education and sports. She was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
