Walter Davis was a triple jumper who competed at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. He attended LSU, for whom he won the NCAA Meet in both 2001 and 2002. He competed at three World Championships, winning in 2005, and taking a silver medal in 2003 and a bronze in 2007. He also won the 2006 World Indoor Championship and was second in 2003. At the 2001 World Athletics Final, he won a silver medal.
