A sprinter, Gian Ferdinando Tomaselli was Italian professional champion in 1897 and 1899. He won the prestigious Grand Prix de Paris in 1899, also winning that year at the Grand Prix de l’UVF. Tomaselli had several other top finishes in various European Grand Prix sprint events, notably placing third at the 1900 Grand Prix de Paris.
