Teri Tunks was an American shot putter who competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In 1999 she won bronze medals at the Pan American Games and the World Indoor Championships. She also competed at the 1998 Goodwill Games and the 1999 World Championships.
Tunks attended Southern Methodist University (SMU). She was named an All-American eight times and won the NCAA shot put championship, as Teri Steer, in 1996, finishing second in 1998. She also won three US Championships in the shot. Teri Steer later married fellow weight throwing Olympians Jason Tunks, although they divorced, and then Christian Cantwell.
