Biography

Savanté Stringfellow was one of the world’s top long jumpers in the early 2000s, although he struggled at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He was silver medalist in the long jump at the 2001 World Championships and won gold at the 2004 World Indoor Championships. He won the 2002 World Cup and competed at the 1999 and 2003 World Championships.

Stringfellow was world ranked in the top 10 from 2001-04, ranking #1 in 2002 and #2 in 2001. He was ranked #1 in the USA in 2001-02.

Stringfellow later had a career in the trucking industry. He worked first with C. H. Robinson in Jackson, Mississippi, and then with KLLM Transport Services. In 2017 he became a sales manager and branch manager at J. B. Hunt Transport Services in Jackson.

Personal Best: LJ – 8.52 (2002).
