Albert Witbeck competed in the 110 metre hurdles handicap event at the 1900 Paris Olympics. He finished sixth and last in the one heat event. He also was entered in several regular Olympic events but did not compete in any of them. Witbeck represented the Riverside Athletic Club of Boston. He was a student at Harvard at the time of the 1900 Olympics.
After college, Witbeck returned to his native Troy, New York, but eventually settled in Shreveport, Louisiana where he worked as a civil engineer and was noted to be an expert on Shreveport history. In World War I Witbeck served with the 20th Engineers as a captain. He also served during the Spanish-American War where he was a lieutenant, leading a group of volunteers.
