Biography

At the 1904 St. Louis Olympics dozens of handicap non-medal track and field events were contested alongside the “true” Olympic events. Roy Albertson, a representative of the Chicago Central YMCA, competed in two of these disciplines. Albertson ran in the 100 yards YMCA championship in St. Louis but finished last in his heat. In the pole vault he finished third, but only three athletes from the YMCA competed in the event. Albertson married his wife in 1915, with the couple having two sons. He later worked as an office manager in Chicago.
