Biography

Willi Lesch was a two-time Olympic Alpine skier. He participated in 1968 at Grenoble and in 1972 at Sapporo, both with lesser success. In 1966 and 1968 he won the West German giant slalom title. In 1969 he also claimed the title in Alpine combination. Lesch later became a successful Alpine skiing coach until 1997. From 1973-75 he coached the Norwegian women’s team. At the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Games he participated as a referee.
