Eugeniusz Lewacki pursued a variety of athletic pursuits in his youth, such as skiing, football, and volleyball, but it was ice hockey that captured his interest the most. The Second World War delayed the start of his career, but in 1946 he joined KTH Krynica, with whom he would play the majority of his career. He won the national championship in 1950 and was runner-up in 1949, 1951, and 1953, before having a two-year stint with Gwardia Bydgoszcz, the national runners-up in 1954 and 1955. Afterwards, he returned to KTH Krynica and remained with them until the end of his career in 1957. Internationally, he represented Poland at two editions of the Winter Olympics – 1948 and 1952 – where the nation finished sixth both times, as well as at the 1955 World Championships. He later worked as a taxi driver, but also held positions in the administration of ice hockey.
