Sepp Lichtenegger

Sepp Lichtenegger was brought up one of 11 children (five girls and six boys) in the town of Posern. He discovered his love for sports in his early childhood and pursued it with enthusiasm. After his schooling, he learned the metalworking trade at the Steeg electrode factory, where he worked for forty years until his retirement.

Lichtenegger took part in the ski flying week at Kulm three times and became Austrian national champion five times. He recorded his greatest success at the Four Hills Tournament in 1966/67, where he took an excellent second place behind Björn Wirkola. Lichtenegger participations in the 1964 Innsbruck and 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics were his personal highlights. His best result was 11th place in the normal hill event in 1964.
