Engelbert Linder was an ice hockey defence playing at the 1994 Lillehammer and 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics representing Austria. The team was eliminated in the group stage and finally placed 12th and last, after losing the match for 11th place to Norway 3-1 in 1994. Four years later at Nagano the team again placed last and 14th. Linder won 63 Austrian international caps and scored nine points (2+7).
Linder had a long-playing career at Villacher SV where he spent 21 seasons and became a four-time Austrian champion (1991-93, 1999). He finished his career with Graz 99ers in 2003. After his active career, Linder worked as a coach at ELV Zauchen, and EC Spittal.
