Bob Livingston played college hockey as a defenseman at Princeton, graduating in 1931. After graduation he joined the U.S. Olympic team and won a silver medal in 1932. He then became a representative of the Grace Line in Peru for 12 years before serving in World War II as a lieutenant commander in the Navy. After World War II, Bob Livingston eventually rose to the presidency of International Instruments, Inc., a company which manufactured electronic components. He relinquished that position in 1969 when the company was sold although he remained on the board of directors.
