Rick Krivda was a left-handed pitcher who helped the United States win gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Krivda was from McKeesport, Pennsylvania and attended California University of Pennsylvania. He was selected in the 23rd round of the 1991 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft by the Baltimore Orioles.
Krivda spent several years in the minor leagues but made his MLB début in July 1995 with the Orioles. He was back in the minors early in 1996 with the Triple A Rochester Red Wings but came up to the Orioles again in mid-season, and pitched 22 games for the Orioles in 1996.
Krivda again played for Baltimore in 1997 and was traded first to the Cleveland Indians and then the Cincinnati Reds in 1998, which ended his major league career. He was shipped back to the minor leagues where he played through 2003, then retiring from professional baseball.
