Ivar Nyholm was a businessman who worked in insurance. He was the first Danish IOC Member without a military background. Nyholm was Secretary-General of the Danish Olympic Committee from 1905-25 and was then Vice-President from 1925-38. He became an IOC Member in March 1922 and resigned in April 1931.
