Moisés Sáenz studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and in the United States at Washington & Jefferson College and Columbia University. When he returned to Mexico, Sáenz held various government positions and then was appointed Minister of Education. He studied the First Nation tribes in Canada and later did research in South America. In 1934 Sáenz was appointed Ambassador to Ecuador, followed by appointments as an Ambassador to Denmark in 1937 to Peru. Sáenz led the Mexican delegations to the 1924 and 1928 Olympics and helped organize the 1926 Central American Games. He was co-opted onto the IOC in 1928, but resigned in 1933, never having attended an IOC Session.
