Biography
Sharon Petzold placed third in ski ballet at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, a discipline that was renamed acroskiing in the mid-1990s. Petzold had grown up skiing at the Carrabassett Valley Academy in Maine. She competed at the 1991 and 1993 World Championships in ski ballet, winning a silver medal in 1993. Her sister, Brenda Petzold, competed in freestyle skiing aerials at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.
