Reed Robinson competed in giant slalom for LW6/8 disability at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, placing fifth. The LW6/8 category is for athletes with paralysis or motor paresis affecting one arm, or a single upper arm amputation. In Robinson’s case he had an above elbow amputation. A member of the US Disabled Ski Team for over a decade, he won over 10 national titles and won gold in slalom at the 1990 World Alpine Championships. Robinson was married to German skier/athlete Reinhild Möller who won 19 Paralympic gold medals.
