Biography

Myriam Schropp was a German tennis player who played professionally from 1982 to 1988. Schropp achieved a career-best singles ranking of #42 in the world in April 1985, and a doubles ranking of #55 in the world in February 1987. She played for West Germany’s Fed Cup team in 1984 and 1985.

Schropp competed in the singles at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics when tennis was a demonstration sport. In the first round she beat Gigi Fernandez in straight sets before losing to Kathy Horvath in the second round. At Grand Slams Schropp got to the singles second round at the Australian Open (1984, 1985) and at the French Open (1984). She also reached the doubles second round at the 1985 US Open and the 1987 Australian Open. In other tournaments Schropp reached the semi-finals of the 1984 Japan Open losing to Lilian Drescher.
