Biography

Flavio Alfaro was a shortstop and second baseman who played for the USA at the 1984 Olympics demonstration baseball tournament. Alfaro played in college at the College of the Canyons and then transferred to San Diego State University for his junior and senior years. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round of the 1984 Major League Baseball Draft. He played one season of minor league ball with the Durham Bulls, which was then an A league team. Alfaro retired after the 1985 season with the Bulls and settled back in Sacramento, California, where he worked as a salesman and farmer.
