Jeff Branson was an infielder who played for the USA at the 1988 Olympic demonstration baseball tournament. Branson played college ball at the University of West Alabama and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the second round of the 1988 Major League Baseball Draft.
Branson came up to the majors in 1992 with the Reds and played for them into the 1997 season. He later played for the Cleveland Indians (1997-98) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (2000-01). He finished his Major League career with a batting average of .246. After retiring he became a coach, serving as the hitting coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2013-18.
