Richard Hanna played baseball for the USA at the 1936 Olympic demonstration tournament. Hanna played baseball at Stanford University. He never played professional baseball. During World War II he served as a US Navy officer aboard aircraft carriers Nassau and Enterprise.
Hanna became a real estate developer in California and Arizona. He developed the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center in Novato, California on land his family owned. He also developed family holdings in Contra Costa County, California and Chandler, Arizona.
