A catcher, Ken Lowe played baseball for the US at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic demonstration. He was in the Army in 1956, and the entire US team was a military one. Lowe graduated from Villanova University and later earned an MBA from Columbia Business School. He was drafted to play professional baseball by the Boston Braves but continued with his studies at Columbia.
Lowe settled near Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. He began working with Stauffer Chemical but in 1968 started Lowe Chemical, and ran the company as CEO, until he turned it over to his sons. He and his wife later wintered in Naples, Florida for over 30 years.
