Joe Poglajen played on the USA All-Service baseball team that played one demonstration baseball game at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. Poglajen briefly attended Grand Canyon College on a baseball scholarship but left to join the US Navy. He later settled in Arizona where he worked as a lineman and trouble shooter for 37 years with Salt River Project.
