Biography

Carson Thompson was a pitcher who played for the USA at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He played at Temple University, where he won letters in four sports, and represented the Penn Athletic Club. Thompson was invited to try out for the New York Yankees, but refused because he had promised his father that he would never play baseball on Sundays.

After the 1936 Olympics, Thompson played in England for the Romford Wasps in the London Major Baseball League. He became a teacher and coach in the Delaware Valley around Philadelphia, and a football official.
