Biography

Dow Wilson played baseball for the USA at the 1936 Berlin Olympics in the demonstration game. He was from Dow City, Iowa, but spent much of his youth in Miami as his family raced greyhounds. Wilson played baseball and basketball at the University of Nebraska. He was a shortstop on the Olympic team and later related that he became close friends with Jesse Owens on the boat trip to Europe. At the time of the Berlin Olympics, Wilson was from Malden, Massachusetts, possibly because there were greyhound racing tracks near Malden.
