Ted Wood

Ted Wood was an outfielder who played for the USA at the 1988 Olympics in the demonstration baseball tournament. He also won a silver medal in 1988 at the Baseball World Cup. Wood played in college at the University of New Orleans. He was chosen in the first round by the San Francisco Giants in the 1988 Major League Baseball Draft.

Wood played for parts of three seasons in the Major Leagues, but appeared in only 47 games and batted .183 for his Major League career. He was with the Giants in 1991-92 and then played 10 games in 1993 with the Montreal Expos.

Wood played pro ball from 1989-95 in the minor leagues, mostly at Triple-A level. He then played the 1996 season with Aguascalientes of the Mexican League. After a few years out of baseball, he came back and played the 2000 season with the Lotte Giants in Japan.
