George Zucca played baseball at Mission High School in San Francisco, and later played at San Francisco City College and the University of San Francisco. He joined the military and was stationed in Korea with the 32nd Army Division, when he was chosen to compete at the 1956 Olympics in the demonstration baseball event. Zucca later ran his family’s Phillips 66 gas station in the Bay Area, but then opened his own business, Zucca Janitorial.
