Francis Beeler went to Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and subsequently to Johns Hopkins, where he was a member of the successful lacrosse team that represented the United States at the 1932 Olympics. In 1934 Beeler was selected to the All-American team. The same year, he joined a major stationary company and retired as a sales executive in 1975.
