Biography

Chelly Arrue was a cyclist, known as a track sprinter, who competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in the sprint and keirin. Born in Chile, he received USA citizenship on 31 December 1996. Arrue won three medals at the Pan American Games, with a gold in the 1999 team sprint and silvers in the sprint in 1995 and 1999. He was USA Champion in the tandem sprint in 1995, alongside Shaun Washburn. At Grand Prix meetings he earned bronze medals in the sprint in 1995 in København and in the sprint and keirin in 1999 in Cali, Colombia.
