Biography

Ann Trombley was a mountain biker who rode at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, finishing 16th. At the time she was 37-years-old, quite old for a cycling Olympian, but she also started the sport quite late. She began riding in Marin County in 1984 but did not begin racing until 1994, when she was in school to become a physical therapist. She won the first mountain bike race she entered, near Boulder, Colorado.

Trombley turned pro in 1996 and raced at the World Championships in 1996-1999. In 2000 she was ranked second in the US national cross-country series and was the US Champion in short-track.

Trombley earned her degree in physical therapy and a master’s degree from the University of Colorado. She specialized in sports injuries and sacro/iliac pain and dysfunction. She also coached mountain bikers.
