Biography

Austrian canoer Fritz Landertinger participated in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He won the silver medal, clearly beaten by 13 seconds by the German canoer Ernst Krebs. In 1943 Landertinger was killed in action during the German blockade of Stalingrad, now Volgograd, in World War II.
