Alfred Zechmeister was an Austrian flatwater canoeist who participated in the 1972 München Olympics as a crew member of the kayak fours. The team failed to qualify for the semi-finals. Zechmeister later turned to athletics running half-marathon and marathons. He also participated in several senior masters competitions, running all track events from 400 to 10,000 metres.
