Joey DiGiamarino was a soccer (football) back who helped the United States to a fourth-place finish at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. DiGiamarino was the 1995 California High School Player of the Year and then played two years in college at Cal State Fullerton, leaving after his sophomore year to join Major League Soccer (MLS).
DiGiamarino joined the Colorado Rapids from 1997-2000, but in 2001 went to Germany to play Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen. He returned after one year to play with the MetroStars but finished his career in 2004 again with the Rapids.
Internationally DiGiamarino played 15 matches for the USA U-20 team, including at the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championships, and one match for the U-23 team.
