Biography

Chad McCarty was a midfielder who played soccer (football) for the US Men’s National Team at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. McCarty played three seasons of college soccer at the University of Washington. He played in the 1997 U-20 World Cup and later was on the U-23 US National Team.

In 1998 McCarty left school to join Major League Soccer (MLS) with the Tampa Bay Mutiny, staying with them through 2001. He then played two further seasons with the Columbus Crew, retiring after the 2003 season. McCarty later became a soccer coach, both in high school and at Clovis Community College.
